Weird Art In My Eye!
h
What I love most about taking pictures is changing them into art. Maybe it's because I don't have a fab camera, maybe it's because I don't utilize my environment more, or maybe it's because my Eyes See Something Unique Hidden Within An Everyday Picture. Light, Color, Shadows, Scratches, Focuses...so many uses can morph a picture of food or people into something totally different and unexpected. Here is a glimpse of the Weird Art In My Eyes...

I Am Asking YOU!!!!
I have been so busy lately, sick, and I just had surgery today. I feel as though my poor little blog has been abandoned. If any of you enjoy my blog at all then please forgive my absence...hang in with me still!
I am needing some inspirations for pictures. Not on,y have I not blogged, but I haven't pic'd either. Well, that's not entirely true. I have a few more photos of myself, but I refuse to post them because people really will think I am obsessed with myself, which I'm not. It's just my face is always available and I have been trying out new things.
To remedy my dilemma, I am asking for some feedback from YOU!!! Give me some themes or ideas of things to take pictures of. Things readily available that I could transform into a work of photoartography! Let me know. I wanna hear from you all seriously. Just post a comment here and I will begin making Blog themes for each topic picked.
Ok peeps, don't leave me hanging...
Until the Next Pic,

Star Wars Phenomena!
Every month we have a Theme Night at our Youth Group and this one was Star Wars Night. Some dressed up great while others were too chicken to use the creativity inside them. I had fun really playing around with these photos! NOT having a flash on the iPad made for some interesting photos when the lights were out. This night was a success...bet you never thought you would see a Star Wars Re-enactment of the Bible...hahaha! Neither did our Youth. We ended our night ironically watching Transformers 3 instead of something Star Wars related...who said we had to stay by the book! Live Free People! Hahaha!

Day Trip
Last week my family was in town visiting from Florida. One of the days we randomly decided to take a Day Trip Day. The kiddos missed school and ventured into the land of Montezuma Castle. Before we knew it we ended up in Sedona's Red Rock Habitat where we became tantalized by Tlaquepaque's shops. As the sun started to set, we headed back down the mountainous terrain to The Valley of the Sun...Good Ol' Phoenix. There we fine dined at True Foods and let's just say the taste was not for every one's palates...mainly my boys...LOL!
Here are some of the cool pics I snapped, wish I would have taken more. :)
Montezuma's Castle (the smaller of the 2 sites)
About 35 people lived in this 2 story building on the mountain.
Over here is a pic of the mountain view as we were driving. I added fake rain because it made it pop with vibrancy. Call me weird, but I thought it was cool! :)
Within the reserve area of Montezuma's Castle, actually in between the two structures. These were Nature's Camoflague trees. The kiddos thought they were very cool looking trees. The whole experience of the trip was great for them, even if it was short.
The foliage was beautiful! Even with my little iPad, the beauty can be seen. Ah...give me a Rebel and wowzers!
Gotta love fruity cacti! Funny thing is this picture I actually took with a plain iPhone camera (back before my Droid) while at the Botanical Gardens. I enhanced the color a bit more using my iPad editing apps, but just thought it was cool looking.
Daddy and Oldest...Just Way Too Tough for this Excursion, especially the shops in Sedona. Lol! :)
This kid can get under my skin as he tries to become a teenager and grow a moustache, but I love him like crazy! Mommy and Oldest...where it all started!
More of my precious little gem...she is the princess of this family of five! :)
That's all for now! Hope you enjoyed a glimpse into my life through the eyes of my iPad! :)
Until the Next Pic,

I can't help but turn ordinary
pictures into something that
looks more like a painting of sorts.
I think that is more my obsession
than actually taking the pictures. Hehehe!

Photography, Inspiration, and Passion...
What does it mean to be a PHOTOGRAPHER?
Marry Jordan Photography
The Dictionary says this: 1. A person who takes photographs, especially one who practices photography professionally. 2. A person who takes photographs, either as a hobby or a profession. Can you truly be considered a photographer if you do not do it professionally? Can anyone with a camera be a photographer? Is it the same to say then, is any person with a paint brush an artist? In my opinion photography is a beautiful art. Each person brings to the table the world from their point of view. It's as if the Lens itself is an extension of the Eye. Everyone sees through their own unique Eye Lens. I may look in the mirror and see myself one way while you look at me and see me a completely different way, and yet when someone sees a photograph of me their perception is different still. Who's perception is right? Who's lens tells the REAL Truth? That is what makes it art...a glimpse into the Eye Lens of another person. Some people are gifted and others may not want to make photography a profession. I throw all perception aside though when passion rushes in. If you are passionate about something, go for it. Like me for example, I don't snap photos with my iPad because I'm so great...I just found this hidden passion to capture an image and tweek it. I love to play with the different editing options. I want to take the ordinary and make it fun and different. It might not be what you would have chosen it to look like, but it's what I liked and chose. It's MY Art...My Eye Lens. One of my favorite Lifestyle Photographers is Mary Jordan www.marryjordan.com It was because of her that I have beautiful family portraits to cherish forever. It has now been 3 years and it is WAY PAST DUE for more, but the lovely economy has put a hold on some things...other focuses...but oh you better believe I am going to get some more taken soon. I never considered myself to be photogenic. I don't think I am ugly, I just don't look super awesome in all photos. Mary changed that for me and I think maybe even unlocked the hidden passion within me. Another new up and coming photographer I have been enjoying is Ashley Jane www.ashleyhanephoto.com She snapped some very cool pics of me and some of my band. We were helping her build her portfolio and now she is remaining busier than ever booking sessions, all while raising her 3 beautiful kiddos. Super Mom for sure! As for me, although I wear many hats in my life, right now I'm just a girl with an iPad and a Passion...I snap photos, edit them, and realize how much more I want to learn. I am finding inspirations around every corner! :) What INSPIRES You? Until the Next Pic, ~ChristinaMichele~ "In the Eye of the iPad Holder" |

Photo Fake!
It's been a busy weekend and I have been unable to blog or read blogs as much as I would have liked...finally being able to stop and take a breath, I came across this article and had to share it. I can honestly say that I have never quite trusted all media pictures and stories simply because it seems much too easy to fabricate them. I think though, if you are gonna fake a photo...at least do it right! Geesh!
Enjoy!

( Thanks Scott for posting this! http://weeklyphototips.blogspot.com/2011/07/bad-photoshop.html )
Bad Photoshop...
"There has been another round of badly Photoshopped images in the news the last few days.
This image was released from the North Korean (state run) news agency showing victims walking through a "flood".
Two things wrong with this image, the water does not wick up their pants, they remain absolutely dry right to the water line AND the blending of the people to the water isHORRIBLE.
It is theorized that they (North Korea) released the image as "news" hoping for different flood, one of international aid.
If you follow this link you can read the story (and see the image) that cost an Associated Press freelance photographer his job (and credibility). What did he do? He used Photoshop to (badly) remove his shadow from an image he took of children playing soccer.
It seems that folks get caught because they do such a bad job of using Photoshop, which makes you wonder how many "good" edits never get caught.
Don't get me wrong, I use Photoshop, but I don't pass my images off as news, nor do I claim them to be unaltered."

The Sound of Music...
Can you hear it? Can you feel it? Guitars, Harmonies, Drums, the heart beat of the music that by itself carries you into a whole new atmosphere. Here are some fun musically inspired pics:

Music makes the world go round whether you are playing an instrument, singing a song, or just listening...Ahhh, the Heartbeat of Music!
